ABOUT ME
I’m Stacey Nixon, founder of Hope & Healing Counseling, LLC. I’m a Licensed Counselor who is passionate about helping adolescents, adults, couples, and families move toward healing, connection, and emotional well-being.
Through a relational approach, I support clients in healing from trauma, relational ruptures, and patterns that may leave them feeling stuck. My goal is to help clients develop greater self-awareness and self-acceptance to support meaningful shifts in their lives and relationships.
My Approach
I believe we heal through relationships, and I approach therapy from a humanistic and strengths-based perspective. While we all experience pain and uncomfortable emotions, we also have the capacity for growth and change.
I strive to create a supportive and collaborative space where clients feel safe exploring their emotions, experiences, and patterns. I work to highlight my clients’ existing strengths while supporting them in building deeper self-awareness, understanding, and connection.
My style is relational, open, and collaborative. I draw from Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Family Systems Theory to guide my work. I’m trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Professional Background
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies from Portland State University in 2012 and my Master of Science in Counseling, with a specialization in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling, from Portland State University in 2018.
My clinical experience includes working in residential treatment for children and adolescents with mental health concerns, therapeutic foster care, and community mental health. I have also facilitated support groups for teen survivors of sexual assault and led parenting programs focused on strengthening connection, communication, and parenting skills.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington (LH61136371) and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon (License #C6648).
Personal Background
I was born and raised in the Portland metro area and deeply appreciate our good coffee and food, and the beautiful outdoors! Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends, staying active, cooking, exploring new restaurants, listening to music, and traveling whenever I can.
My personal experiences, natural curiosity, and genuine care for people led me to counseling. I continue to feel honored by this work and grateful for the opportunity to support clients as they evolve.
Hope and healing are possible
