ABOUT ME

I'm glad you are here! I'm Stacey Nixon and the founder of Hope & Healing Counseling, LLC. I'm a Licensed Counselor who is passionate about helping adolescents, adults, couples, and families move toward health and healing. Through a relational approach, I work to empower clients to heal from trauma, relational ruptures, and patterns they feel stuck in. My goal is to help clients gain the self-acceptance and awareness necessary to make shifts in enhancing their lives and relationships.

My Approach

I believe we heal through relationships and approach therapy from a humanistic lens and strengths-based perspective; meaning—we all experience pain and uncomfortable emotions, yet we all have potential to evolve. I work to highlight my clients' current strengths, while exploring their areas for growth. My goal is to meet clients where they are at and create a relationship where they feel safe to explore their emotions, experiences, and patterns to help foster this growth.

My style is relational, open, and collaborative. I draw from Attachment Theory, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Family Systems Theory to guide my work. I'm trained in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). I also enjoy incorporating mindfulness and expressive interventions in my work.
